If you purchased a musical instrument during the year to use in your employment duties, you may be eligible to claim a GST rebate on the purchase price for that instrument. You must include the rebate on your 2002 tax return as a reduction to the undepreciated capital cost of the instrument. Although this will reduce your capital cost allowance (CCA) claims on the instrument in the future, you will receive the rebate when you file you 2001 income tax return.
